In addition, please be aware that the balance of costs will be recovered on the day of the excursion and we may have to ask members who take their own vehicles to contribute a small amount towards the cost of the communal transport if this is underused as a result.

Weekend Residential Field Excursions

Residential Field Excursion Spring 2010

Dr Brian Bell has agreed to lead a residential field trip to Skye in May inevitably focusing on the Tertiary volcanic rocks.  The dates are virtually certain to be Friday 30 April to Tuesday 4 May- field days being the Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Prices have yet to be agreed with the hotel.  Transport will probably be by coach, however shared cars may be used if coach hire proves to be too expensive.  At this stage please register your interest in this trip by contacting David McCulloch preferably by emailing him at gsgfieldtrips@tiscali.co.uk (or tel 01360 661130).  David will send you a booking form as soon as it becomes available.  We also hope to arrange a trip in September and details will be available in the next billet.
